329/365 – 2010

* Christmas comes early *

After we’ve stuffed ourselves with all kinds of turkey-day goodness & watched a significant amount of football, we make our way to the basement. On dad’s side of the family, we draw names for gifts with these peeps – adults & kids alike. (side note: can you believe this shot is actually missing at least 7 people?!) And since we never get to all be together for Christmas, we get to open our “secret santa” gifts on Thanksgiving. We let the kids tear into their presents before the adults open theirs. Then shortly after the gift-opening madness, we have our annual Girls v. Guys Trivial Pursuit game. And pie. Lots and lots of pie. with real whipped cream. huge gobs of it. Oh my goodness, how I love the apple pie.

Thanksgiving is all about tradition and we love every minute of it. Well, except the fact that the guys seem to beat us at trivia nearly every year – but this time, it was by the skin of their teeth. Just wait until next year. 2011 is the year the women will dominate. I can feel it.
